I want to fix the broken bold on the cat/ downpipe.

Would 80 bucks be a fair price to get the whole retapped??

I was told by a friend that VW dealer does it, but he

has a golf. SO i dont know if that would apply.

Did you mean bolt? If so $80 is probably worth it, save yourself the time and headache of trying to do that one yourself. Make him put a new bolt in while he is working on it.
