Today i went to pop my hood as my car was in my garage and it wont open. I have not hit anything or been hit (that i know of) by anything to the front of my car. After looking at it for awhile i'm pretty sure that the hood latch is broken....to what extent im not sure. I had some long misc. tools that i was putting in from the side near the headlight and trying to push the latch so that i could open it...but i couldnt get any of the tools at the right angle in order to do this. The hood opens a small amount without releasing the latch.

has anyone here had any experience with something like this? anything you did to get the hood off/open? I dont have any more time tonight but probably saturday i will tinker with it more. i need to go to inspection too and this isn't good right now.
