Problem with O2 Sensor

Problem with O2 Sensor
I was able to clear a bunch of problem codes that all indicated I needed an O2 sensor with, of course, a new O2 sensor. But now I'm getting more problem codes (below) that seem related to the O2 sensor. The car runs great but the codes are triggering a check engine light ... sometimes. I just drove it code free for about 15 minutes or so. Shut it off. Started it back up and got the following codes.
P1116 - Bank 1, Sensor 1 Heating Circuit - Open Circuit.
P0134 - Bank 1, Sensor 1 - No Activity.
Any suggestions? As always, greatly appreciated!

RE: Problem with O2 Sensor
Which engine do you have and which oxygen sensor did you replace?
The codes, if they are new suggest the precat sensor is dead. Did you use an OEM or a "universal"?
If you have the 1.8 and you replaced the precatalytic converter then either the wiring is cracked, the connection is poor.
If you have a 2.8, which side did you replace?

RE: Problem with O2 Sensor
1.8T ATW motor.
I replaced the pre-cat sensor. Since the code is showing an "open circuit" I was wondering if there's a relay that could be bad with the sensor. I did not replace the post-cat sensor, but from what I read it doesn't effect engine tuning by the ECU. Could it still be the culprit of the engine light. It's weird. If I erase the code, I can start and run the engine for awhile, then shut it off and turn it back on. On the second start, the code appears.
Thanks for the input.
