problems with 1996
are there really any major problems with the 1996 A4 2.8? (at a certain mileage does anything need to be definately replaced?)

I wouln't say there are any major problems in any of the years. Some concerns though are:
-squeaky control arms and tie rods
-timing belt, water pump, etc needs changed around 60-70k miles
