98 2.8 Quattro, Power locks have been inop for sometime now,central locks still worked with the key in the door so it was liveable. Thursday central locking stopped working too, kind of a pain. Friday I find that sometime overnight all fours windows put themselves down, of course it rained. Does anyone know what could have caused the windows tomalfunction,it never happened before and has not done it again so far. No one else has a key to my car, so it is not hyjinx or apractical joke.

 

Get someone with a vagcom to check the central locking system for codes. Sounds like a short circuit.

 

thers def a short in ur power lock system... windows didnt put themselves down...ur locking system did... you know like if u put the key in the door tumbler, turn it n hold it... the windows drop....
