Progress and problems of my '01 Audi A4
So far I have owned my Audi for 5 days and already have done a couple things and found some hidden problems.
First I was surprised to find that this car lived most of its life up north, meaning it has had a lot of salt from the road on it, and now it lives in hawaii dealing with salt from the ocean. Surprisingly I have pretty limited rust, underbody looks good, but.. the exhaust is very rusty and has an exhaust leak that was crapily patched. Headlights were faded, missing front valence, lug cap covers completely missing paint (finding out quite the common problem), gas cap seal is bad throwing a CEL, possibly gas cap or charcoal evap, (Fingers crossed)
As the code was a P0442 which is the Evap system. Then the radio was locked out, went to local audio custom shop, they pulled the radio out for me with the keys you need, and then I was able to see my AUZ code, and call into audi to ask for my radio unlock code. This took 3 days to hear back from them, but I did call on the weekend, then the radio would not leave from "Safe" on the lcd so you then have to turn your key to the 2nd position and leave the radio on for 1 hour, be sure to get the code correct as you have only 2 attempts before it locks out for another hour, after radio was unlocked I found out the two front speakers do not work, previous owner replaced them with cheap china speakers and are connected but no sound, even with the fader all the way forward. no sound at all. The Sunroof switch is not functioning very well, headliner is falling quite badly, vanity mirror light on driver side has been pulled improperly.. battery plastic cover has a broken tab, and there are rock chips on the bonnet which are showing rust, rust below the latch on the rear driver side passenger door, and rust behind license plate. Also the Ash tray in the front doesn't work properly because there are coins lodged behind it.
Any tips or ideas are welcomed and appreciated, this is my first audi and I love her a bunch and am ready to start fixing her up.

Cleaning all the brake dust baked on the lug nut cap cover... taking forever, its really on there. Next Spray paint the covers black. I'm hoping that looks good for now, I plan on painting the rims black as well.
If you go to the B5 area, you can get more specific help. Check out the stickies, which list the typical things you should look at (wheel bearings, timing belt, etc).
Cleaning the sunroof switch will fix that problem.
Put the engine type (1.8 or 2.8) and code (e.g., AHA) in your signature to help diagnose issues.

Thanks for the tips, Figured I would post the progress of it here, and Being so new here I had no idea how to do the signature till I snooped around a little bit more and figured it out. Thanks though for the tips.
