Press the stability control button to turn it off.

Left foot hard on the brake.

Right foot revving to around 2.5k-2.8k rpms.

Green light, let off the brake and smash the gas.

I can only rev to 1200 rpm holding the brake in D. Release brake
and floor it.

Hahaha... good one, I always forget about the ESP. I need to play around accel with it off and see how much different the response is.

But yeah, I'm about 95% tiptronic person myself. Just so we're clear -- tiptronic is for CVT tranny, it's called "multitronic" if it's the normal tranny? I always get those confused. I do notice I get better gas milage because I tend to accelerate slower when I'm in D rather than doing it myself. I always want to have too much fun letting the RPMs climb up there and zip away. hehe... gah, I love my car!

I use the Tip when I want lots of Giddyup. Like someone said, I just slap the shifter a half second sooner than I really want to shift, thereby hitting the rpms I want. Generally I keep her in D, unless I gotta pass that old lady in her Corsica doing 55 on the freeway. Move the shifter to Tip, slap it back to "4" and gun it! The car is real sluggish in 5th at 55. Feels like it takes forever to get the speed up.

Yeah, same here. Since they aren't real gears, I sometimes wish I could change the ratios, especially 2nd and 3rd -- I have way too big of a gap between those. Then again, I've learned when to shift to what and where, so I guess it's not really worth the time and effort if its even possible.

Not that I would bother doing it -- but is it possible to change the preset ratios of the tip "gears"?

Im a 90% tip user mostly because I like the way the exhaust sounds and I prefer downshifts to braking hard...but with a chip D mode is best at WOT like 1.8T mentioned.. hey BTW your screen display dosent look that bad ..I need to take a pic of mine and post it ..its horrible I can barely read most of it (sorry off topic a lil)

mulittronic is CVT and tiptronic is for the regular automatic wit the somewat manul shifting

so which one u got
depending on the years
if u have a B6 and have 5speeds on ur automatic u have a tip
if u have 6speeds on ur automatic u have a CVT or multitronic

the B7s have a 6speed tip and 7speed CVT

and all CVTs are FWD
