I sometimes wish I could change the ratios, especially 2nd and 3rd -- I have way too big of a gap between those.
Really? Thats the shortest gap for me (2.8), too short I think.

The 0-60 time is a tad faster in D. The trans shifts effortlessly at redline. In tip mode I've found that at over 5600 rpm + WOT the trans is reluctant to shift when I tell it. I gotta ease off the gas for it to "catch" the next gear, so theres that break in acceleration like a manual. Apart from the annoying "kickdown" the tip trans is good fun, its nice to shift gears when driving hard, then leaving it in D when in stop and go traffic.

I never use my tip unless I want to play a little bit. The D performs much better and is way better off the line. I can't stand the way Audi has the tip set up off the line. Totally useless. Why would it shift out of first automatically in tip? It ruins the whole point of having it.

I've noticed when I just punch on the gas HARDfrom, sitting like a duck to 60, it tends to go slower.. But when Igradually step onthe gas, then punch it, it seems to be a lot faster.

haha, thats because if your pushing the pedal all the way down from 1k RPMS, your giving it way to much fuel and its point less, you wanna ease half way on the gas into the 3k range then punch it, and shift at high rpm's so you never fall back below 3k, therfore allowing you to punch it after every shift.

So if I want a good 0-60, ease into the gas till it hits 3k RPM, then punch it?

And what do you mean after every shift? I'm talking about in "D", not Tip.

Oh, well I was speaking about "Manual" Or "Tip" but our turbo kicks in noticably at 3k, so I guess the best way in D is to put your foot over the brake (hard) rev it to 1.5k or so, let off at the peak of the rev go half way on the gas and the second it hits 3k, just punch the gas and hold it that way until you reach 60mph or however fast you want to go... Thats my suggestion

I guess tip is a bit different than multi... I have multi, and I love it. I've driven a tip on a VW and it kind of sucked.

Yeah, since it would be so easy and thoroughly beneficial for me to sell the car that I just bought 3 months ago at a VERY good price to buy a new one that is a manual... [>:]

Don't get me wrong, I regret not getting a manual, my last car was a 5spd and I loved it. But the price on my tip was too good to pass up. Don't look down on people just because they have tip, good lord...

Regarding your comment on manual transmissions and the "women" that do not have them:

Step 1. Move to SoCal.
Step 2. Drive on the 405, 5, 22, 91, or 55 freeway at 8-10am / 11:30-1:00pm / 4:00-6:30pm.
Step 3. Return to Audiforums and apologize for stupid remark.
