Default protective underbelly

I just found out that I have a hole the size of my thumb in the protective underbelly of my A4 cab that shields parts of the engine. It will be quite expensive to replace and I was wondering if replacing it because of such a hole is an absolute necessity. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Haha not many of us have perfect belly pans... mine is falling apart. As long as it's there, it's fine. Don't worry about it! Lots of people take them off... which isn't recommended, but it isn't catastrophic, either. Just keep an eye on it... sounds like yours is still in good shape compared to most.

Yeah I ripped mine apart. Its only about $100 CDN for a new one, I can think of a lot more things to replace on the car that are more.
