I just got a 1999 black quattro a4 with about 125,000. It was a friend of mines who wanted to get a truck for construction. Talked him down to 5,000 till the service engine soon light came on for running too lean. Checker auto told him prolly o2 sensor so he said hed give it to me for 4,700. Came on here and checked the forum when i got it, replaced vaccum line for 1.25 lol. But, i think the front bearing is bad along with the control arms (but arent the control arms covered in a recall) so that money will go towards that.

I was wondering what kind of preventative maintence would be smart to do at this mileage. The timing belt along with the other things they do like water pump was done at about 100,000. Break fluid changed not long ago. I plan on replacing the fuel filter, diff fluids, air filters and tranny fluid, im just wondering what else i should do?

 

I'd get the brakes and CV joints inspected too...

Also have them test out the battery, 100K is a long way for the stock battery.
