Heh, you'd be wrong, I missed a few good deals already for TT's. A grand isnt bad.. We spent 13k on the Land Rover in the course of 6 years?
My question is Tuning. What is the max obtainable power without seriously compramising reliabilty.

No way you can find a TT for 5-6K. The A4 1.8T quattro is a good car, but will require a lot of maintenance with high miles. As above, make sure the timing belt has been done and that the control arms aren't worn out. Have it checked by an independent VW/Audi mechanic before you buy, and still plan on 1000 dollars in the first year for repairs, etc.

Are the A4's really that unreliable? I haven't read much that said that, but I was looking to purchase one and was hoping it would be more of an oil/gasoline car. I am looking at a 2000 with 83k mi and a chipped engine, has all service records, oil always mobil 1 full synthetic every 5k and always premium chevron gasoline. One question I did have about the chipped engine... does it hurt the engine to have the chip and not the upgraded DV? Thanks guys.
