Default Q about Apr Stage 1+

So I was talking with a shop about it...

1) they recommended copper plugs instead of platinum. $20 and they said they run 'cooler' so it is much better in this setup. Sure you have to replace them sooner, but a better way to go. True/False/etc?
2) no point in going with a stock/chipped if your doing 1+, might as well do chipped(91)/race(100) and every once in a while you can pay $5 a gallon for race fuel. Said it makes a huge difference on race fuel.
3) the Forge 007p is actually a better DV then the 007?
i am also told that there is no real pt in going for the 710n as it is cheap and WILL eventually break. dont go cheap on a nice a4, get the forge. ?
4) of course no need for the lockout, since i am not having a 'stock' mode why bother with the $59
5) the apr #'s for stage 1+ do not reflect the exhaust, even though it is highly recommended. I wonder what more hP I can expect with an APR or Borla exhaust?
6) Thinking i MAY go APR exhaust if i can get a good deal. I do NOT want a rice sounding exhaust at all and want to stay as close to stock as possible. This sounds like a good bet. IF they make one for front-track. Otherwise its borla mufflers w/ custom mandrel bent pipe made.

Alright, I think those are the questions I sort of wanted to get off my chest.
Thanks for the 411 people.

1)cant help you
2)personal preference, why not have stock if you ever have to go to the dealer (cuz youre an 04) they'd like to make the money either way.
3)03's and up come stock with the 710N DV. It is perfectly fine and can hold all the boost you'll need for a chipped car.
4)depends on if you decided to go stock or not.
5)approx 15chp is what they claim.
6)borla is your best bet. oops i see you are fronttrak. hmm i say borla mufflers w/ custom. but it just wont sound the same...remember millitek makes a FWD exhaust.

1. Ok thanks
2. I have 59k miles on my 04. I have a third party extended warranty though. I can go wherever I want for service. This place said that they are a full audi service center as well w/ an audi master mechanic. They said that if I have my chip/etc. that it wont effect them doing any service on my car. Once you put injectors in the car and a new DV, there is no real point in trying to "hide" the fact that you are chipped by doing a stock map and a lock-out option, since its obvious. They claim, might as well just do the race map as your second map and actually get some use for your $149 extra (for 2 maps). ?
3. Hmm... First i've read of that. The 710N was said to come on the TT. He was telling me that stock boost is somewhere around 6-7psi and after stage 1+ you are at like 21psi. Why not get a GOOD dv. But I hear you on this one. I do I do... I'm thinkin.
5. Sweet.
6. Yes, I was thinking along those lines. The borla w/ custom is probably a what ... $500? I saw the mufflers for $300 for 2 then I have to pay for piping. The millitek is probably $1000 bux. Hrmmph!

THANK YOU!
I appreciate your time. This is a large investment in my money and I want it done right.

1. Yes - platinum is not recommended for turbo cars. Platinum is used for longvity, not for performance - this is a marketing misnomer that many people buy into.
2. Up to you...
3. The 710N is fine for a chipped A4. Even if it dies every two years - compare it's $30 price tag with that of $175 of a forge. You can get six 710N's for the price of the Forge... Thats 12 years.
6. Only a catback exhaust system will give you added hp numbers. A muffler alone won't give you any performance boost, though it will add sound.

1. Ok I will do the Bosch copper.
2. I am told that doing "stock" with the Stage 1+ simply changes the boost so it makes stock HP/Tq but will not run rich (cuz of the injectors). What kind of gas milage would I see with the 91 octane map vs the stock. This is with the injectors. Worse then before? Same?
3. I was looking around for a 710N and nobody local to me has one in stock other then maybe a dealer. Dealer price might be about $50+tax eh? I am doin the 007p for $130 OTD installed. I guess if I can find a 710N for a good deal, I might go that route. I want everything done at once.
6. Off the turbo there is a 'down pipe' right? Then from the down-pipe there is a cat, then the off the cat goes the exhaust. So if you were to replace the piping after the cat (keeping the down-pipe and the cat) you would have a 'cat-back' ? Shops who do mandrel bending can do that I am assuming. I am absolutely not concerned with sound. I want to stay as close to stock sounding as possible. I HATE rice sounding crap.

NGK copper are about 2 dollars each. Stick with NGK.
2. Mileage will be the same with chip, perhaps a bit better unless you are heavy footed.
My 710N has lasted 70K Plus miles so far, so no need for a forge.
Do the 93 chip rather than the 91 if 93 gas is available.
