Default Quattro Launching????

Could someone explain how to launch an AWD car properly. I tried just putting the car in first and letting go of the clutch while at about 5K RPM but it didn't feel right. Also would engine mounts help if I would be launching alot (e.g. Track racing).

Another thing is with the new GIAC chip, Bailey DV, and ITG PAF what can I expect to beat or get close to beating on the street (Just name a few)

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Whoa easy up on the launch there man haha. Dumping at 5k is a surefire way to say goodbye to your stock clutch!

From mike-2ptzero on audizine:

1. sit so you can push the pedal to the floor without using any ankle
2. set the clutch pedal to the friction point once you stage
3. bounce the rpms to spool the turbo up (3k on your k03)
4. go WOT at the bottom of the rpm swing and let the clutch out with one good knee movement right as you hit the set rpm you want to launch at

yea what he said, 3000 is about right for the stock clutch.... as for what you will beat with the chip, well with my mods i have beaten many a civic, wrx, v6 mustang, a chevy cobalt ss, neons (not srt-4) and most 4 cyl cars that try and race me, the ones i have lost to are, sti, evo, srt4, a built 240 (my friend) and a build eclipse (also my friend)

OK thanks, and typically how high do you push the car RPM wise when racing before shifting? I know during normal driving it's around 3K rpm. Sorry for all these Q's, I just learned how to drive stick shift.

Well when racing, you'll hit pretty high in the rpm range. Your stock turbo will cut its power at around 5k, but you can shift at like 6k so your revs drop to the right range in the next gear.

Peak power is at 5900 stock, (probably around the same with a chip) I tend to shift a little above (6200 or so) so my next gear will still be in the powerband.
