Default quattro vs fwd

If i were to upgrade to the g2 am i going to get the same power gains as are stated on pes-tuning.com I have a 99 2.8 quattro, and i have heard that the quattro absorbs some of the power and I won't get the full gain. Is this true?

the gains listed are at the crank...before it hits the trans and all that, as it goes to the wheels. So yea a FWD will get more power to the wheels than a quattro Audi. But the gains just in the engine alone are the same.

well who do you think would win in a race of say a quarter mile a g2 on an A4 2.8 Fwd or a 2.8 quattro? If everything was stock on both besides the g2

In a drag the quattro has an advantage of the line as it grips better but the FWD is lighter and puts more power on the ground, so if the FWD takes your jump and go advantage away, say race from a role the quattro will lose. Not sure if the FWD will win in a drag.

I'd like to see that race. My guess is the quattro would win by a nose. No wheelspin off the line means a slightly better start. No doubt which one would win around a track...From what I've read on SCaudi.com the G2 makes around 260whp, so thats 30 horses lost to the quattro drivetrain. Personally for 5 grand thats not enough power to the wheels.

fwd would be ok in a drag with a ko3 turbo. not really enough power to brake em loose for that long. but anything more then that you will want quatrro unless you run some 10" slicks up front
