Default Question On 2004 A4 Clutch.

Hi Everyone, I'm a Newbie in here, My wife's 2004 A4 1.8Turbo 6spd manual according to the dealer needs a new clutch. The clutch pedal goes to the floor and does not come back up, if the car is standing still and you work the clutch pedal it moves up and down. The dealer said the tech's checked the Hydraulics out and that is okay. So he thinks its the clutch which according to him IS NOT covered under the 2004 Audi 4 Year/50,000 mile Warranty. I questioned this as there is nothing in the warranty book saying that a manual clutch is not covered. He claims that Audi decided to change their policy on clutches. He said the cost to replace the clutch is $1,800.00 plus tax.

My question is based on what I read in the warranty book and the fact that when we bought the car we were told everything was covered bumper to bumper under the warranty including brakes (which they just replaced pads) that I have a Small Claims Case here against Audi. Has anyone else had this problem? This is our 2nd A4 and we were victims of the timing belt failure at 74,000 miles. Audi claimed we were not covered under the law suiti last year so I lost $4,800.00 in trade in vaule when we bought this A4. My wife really likes the car and we did not think we would be inline to get burned once again by Audi.

Thanks!!

Default RE: Question On 2004 A4 Clutch.

Hi Again I rthink my first post maybe a little unclear. The 2004 A4 has 38,000 miles on it well below the 50,000 miles of the warranty and is also a Quatro. Also the A4 with the timing belt breaking was my wife's 1st Audi, a 1999 A4 1.8Turbo Quatro.
Thanks!!

Dont think it is a slave cylinder but i dont think it is the clutch either, Your problem might be the throwout bearing check on that not sure but that could be your problem.
