Question about 2000 tailights fitting 99 model...
I have a 99 a4 and have the older tailights ... one is cracked/broken so I thouhgt "why don't I just buy the newer design - 2000 and up- and just sell the remaining good one on ebay". My question is - are the connectors the same? I know that the shape and size is the same but are the connectors the same. Anyone know? Thanks for your input!
I read the articles on the taillight swaps with the older lights - the ones with the orange - but I have the ones that have the white line in the middle the 99 model ones. Do these have to be rewired too or do they have the newer connectors already?
im not sure. if i were you i would just try it w/o rewireing it if it doesnt work then rewire it. you shouldnt have any problems though many many of us audi guys have done this and ive heard its pretty much a direct replacement.
I just recieved my taillights from a 2000 model...finished putting them on..and yea, I did have to rewire them. So there, now you people know - that a 99 model tail light still needs to be rewired if swapped for a 2000 and up.
