Default question about GIAC

if i buy a 98 1.8t and i put a GIAC chip in it how much will it raise hp and torqe? do i need to buy anything else to go with it or just the chip? will this be bad for the engine and bring the mpg down?also does anyone know the 1/4 time and 0 to 60 with this chip in?
hopefully you guys can answer all my questions
thanks

your hp and tq will be around 205hp and similar tq, all you will need is a new dv the 710n from audi will work fine, but to take full advanage of the chip an exhaust system is needed

ok hp is like 210 tq is like 250 and thats crank, mileage is better if you stay off it actually but if your like me and cant seem to keep your fot out of it it will go down.... no its not bad for the engine at all, the chips are made to work well within the perameters of the engine's capabilitys.... 1/4 mile is in the 14's......... there is the rest of your answers i think

It puts more stress on the engine than the stock programming, but if you don't plan on keeping the car for 20 years and 200k miles after the chip, it wont matter :P

His is a 98 which means he has the 150 hp engine instead of the 170 hp engine that 2000-01 have, it will knock it up to around 190 hp with your engine and you gain 55-60 lb of torque. It's not a bad idea to get a new DV for the turbo and possibly a better air filter, I got ITG. I haven't checked my 0-60 or 1/4 yet, I don't think it would make 14's, low to mid 15's is my guess.
