Default question about oil changes

Hi , I am a new owner of 2006 Audi A4, I am leasing it for the past year and half. I have done my first oil change by the dealer at 6000km which was recommended and this was last Jan 2007. The dealer told me to come back next Jan 2008 or at 21000km. Isn't this too far apart, I mean 15000km oronce a year. I want my car to last, should I get 2 oil changes a year or every 7000km instead every 15000km. I do put about 15-20k of km a year. I don't trust these dealers. I am seeking for a second recomendation.

I would do it every 3-5k miles (4800 - 8000 km).

Just follow the AUDI recommended schedule at...
5000>15,000>25,000,35,000>45,000, etc..
They use synthetic oil so unless you're racing all the time, I would just stick to the adhered service schedule.

I personally change my oil every 6K miles, but like bob said, if you're leasing it (and you don't plan to purchase at the end of the lease), just follow Audi's directions.

ok thanks guys, I will follow the AUDI recommended schedule. I am leasing it, yes who cares but I will keep the car, I still have to care about it.

fed just make sure you keep all receipts from your dealership and other placesfor all oil changes. Cuz if you car may develop oil sludge later down the road you'll be cover by audi's extended warranty. I change mine every 5K +/- 1K miles
