How could you go past an S4. They cost about $56,000 (thats for a 2001 model).
What??? More like $20,000 - $25,000

If i had money up the *** and if i could blow away 50K for an S4 then i would buy it!

but reality is reality and i would be more than happy with the A4 i have now (01.5) Im slowly modding it and its great!

s4 definitely.... 2000 s4 is about 16-17k starting (with about 70k miles)... which is not bad. Put 600 bucks into it, you've got a 320hp car easily!. Best speed for the price for a german car in my opinion.

AGP it doesn't sound like you are gonna be able to afford the S4. I think you'll end up over your head and stretched monitarily (unless mommy is paying). A teenager with an S4? You'll kill yourself. </end old fart rant>

i was looking at the GT2X and teh GTRS i was thinking that same thing. I can get more HP than teh s4 with a chip and it would be cheaper to buy and insurance is cheaper. I think i would go up to a 2000 so i could get xenon lights ( i think tahts teh first year availble) what should ui be spending on the car. ITs liek 1500 for teh GTRS. Which of the 2 is faster i know that the GTRS has a higher HP overall but which has more torque? I was looking at the dyno and it looked like teh GT2X had more torque. I want the one with the higher 0-60 time and they only have the GT2X posted right now its 5.7 on normal gas and 4.9 on race gas. heres the place im looking at them.

If you have the dough , get the S4 , you will love it.
If not , pick up a 1.8T and drop a turbo in that.
Either way , it seems like you are looking for a turbo to play with.
So you will be happy with either over your N/A 2.8 ..

i agree with tom. 99.5 has been said to be the best year and youll be able to squeeze alot out of it with a large turbo and related upgrades.

and lildonnit since when was a 2001 S4 $56,000? maybe thats youre funky australian prices but over here they are 20-25k like flyinb said.

99.5 hell if you only spend 10-12k on the car you will have atleast 5k+ to mod it with... and those numbers can do this for you: http://www.vwturbo.com/turboinfo/102803.asp

See at the bottom? 400 AWHP .... with the capability to run mid 11's in the 1/4... i am drooling and want more power!
