Default Questions about painting the lower trim...

What do you guys think is a fair price for painting the lower trim on my 2002 A4? I figure while my car is at the body shop getting repaired from the accident that I could maybe get a good deal on it already...but I don't want to get ripped off in the process either? So what should I expect...they are a very reputable shop and are certified from VW for body work...so of course I expect them to be a little more than other places....and is it even worth it to paint them? Or do I have to go the body kit route? I really just want to have em ready for door blades in a few months...and the car flat out looks nicer painted...

so this is the deal with paint jobs. when you paint something like a front bumper you have to paint everything around the bumper to make it match. like the hood and fenders to make it look perfect.

120 a gallon is very cheap....

the paint (napa junk) that i had my off road toyota pickup painted with was 150 for a gallon.....

friend painted his chevy with a metalic blue that was $350 a gallon... paint can be upward of $1000 a gallon for the fancier stuff. a quality paint job is not cheap.

they shouldnt charge all that much more to do the sides... $250 tops?? i would think, its not gonna use a huge amount of paint... just gonna take a little time to tape it off

I've heard a lot of ppl say that it cost them about $700, but many places will not do it because they can't guarantee it. I just did mine yesterday, and I'll post some pics as soon as I get it cleaned up.

So would the better route be to just obtain a body kit?
