.. i have a 2003 a4 1.8t quattro

i thought my turbo was busted but today i got a boost gauge put in because some times i hear that whinning sound which i believe is the turbo.. it comes and goes. today i got up to 11psi but it was pouring outside.. my question is if my turbo was blown would the gauge hover and stay at 0? ... also does this help me at all in narrowing down my p0299 cel code which is low boost?

mods in order

afe cold air intake
year later
magnalfow exhaust
6 months later
apr ecu flash upgrade then hours later p0299 cel

then i put in a hyperboost dv valve.. changed nothing


any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance
