Default Very Quick Question

(At work, so I really don't have time to search to see if this has been answered yet)

Getting ready to change my oil soon and I am going with the Amsoil. Here is the question: The Amsoil site gives me 2 options of weight, 30 or 40. I figured living in ohio 30 would be best, just wanted opinions. Also, Amsoil have Euro and American style. Which of these would be best? Not sure what the difference is in the two. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

The car calls for 5w40. Use the 40. It's designed to handle the higher temperatures that this turbo engine produces, without breaking down as easy.

Agreed. Although here in Wisconsin, my dealer just put in a 0W40. I'm not sure there's much of a difference, but this is what they recommended for 'winter' weather.

For winter in Wisconsin, I don't think the 0 will be a problem. The 0 just means the oil can handle colder temps before becoming thick enough to be a problem. During the warmer months, the 5 is more than sufficient.
