i've searched and couldn't find a definate answer...... will a boost leak only occur under acceleration?? i've been hearing a noise coming from the front passenger side of the car only while accelerating and in gear.completely stock engine. could be the dv, which i was planning to replace soon anywaythis weekend i'm going to do the DIY boost leak check so if it is a leak hopefully i'll be able to find it.

anybody have any insight?

a boost leak will only affect performance under decent accleration. They dont really effect normal driving, only when you try to hit a good amount of boost.

Does it sound like air coming out from a hose or something similar to that?

 

thats what i thought.. it happens just on regular acceleration. im not quite sure on the sound.. i'm gonna say it sounds more like some sort of contact or rubbing, but im not for sure. how loud would a leak be?
