Okay guys, some of you might remember yesterday I got my R1 installed, but it still sounded like a BOV (I had thought the stock DV was kaput and had been losing boost pressure because it's inherently a piece of ****). So, I was worried that I had a boost leak due to a hose, and I went today to get it checked out. Turns out, nothing's wrong. I took it on a ~ 1/2 mile road and we tested the boost pressure, which is stable. The amount of requested / delivered boost is almost identical, so there's no sign of anything wrong with it, but whenever I let off the accelerator, I definitely hear a BOV-type noise. Is there anything else that could be wrong with the car? It's probably not that big of a deal, but I want to be aware anyways.

 

a dv isn't silent. it makes the same noise as a BOV only quiter and not as much air is coming out

 

i miss mine its with apr being fixed

 

Brian, it's really really audible though. Like there's lasers being shot out from underneath my car that are going to blow some car infront of me the **** up. [&:]

It sounds like the last one. It won't matter though, once I get the subs in I won't hear ****

 

told you before and ill say it again.... PRESSURE TEST. Onepoint8tee will help if you need it.

 

is it one audible "whoosh" or does it sound like the turbo xs? kinda like how the sound flutters a bit (kinda hard to describe) cuz i've never heard a dv have that fluttering sound. u sure u have a dv lol?

 

We DID pressure test the system? Or is what you're talking about something different. I haven't looked for onepoint8tee's thread regarding it yet.
