you can do a DIY FMIC for under like 300 probably...

but with a budget of $0...you screwed...learn to live wiht it..or try like he said to get some insulating tape or watever nad put it around the cat or maybe use more and put it under the carpeting on the inside of the car..but im thinkin Audi's already have really good insulating stuff

Is the engine temp guage and oil temp guage in the normal range? What are they reading?

yes they both read normal, but the heat is crazy. Black 97a4, i ment that i dont have the money for a FMIC, and i was under the impression that one has to have an aftermarket front bumper to fit, along with the ability to weld, and access to a welder, all of which i do not have. Can you get away with some sort of couplings instead of welds? cause $300 is doable....

You can probably find a used FMIC for less than a grand, possibly substantially less than a grand.

If the oil temp is not showing high, or your engine temp, then dont worry about it.

These turbos get hot, glowing hot actually, just make sure you give it a few minutes of normal driving before turning it off, and you'll be fine.

An fmic isnt going to do anything for the exhaust/turbo temps. It cools the intake air, but the heat you are dealing with is from the exhaust side. The turbo runs off the hot exhaust being pumped out of the engine.

I would think your first mod should be a heat shield,
Like this one http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89270, http://www.blinktekdesign.com/is his web site.

This will do wonders for that heat problem your talking about..

Next is definately going to be chip.
