My radiator started weeping/leaking [sm=boohoo.gif]on my 2000 2.8Q 135k miles. I have heard this is a common to have the radiator begin to weep were the plastic connects to the aluminum. My question is how long do I have before it is undrivable. I want to wait a month or 2 and do the timing at the same time. Has anyone experienced this weeping before? Any info would be appreciated.

 

mine did the exact same, but it wasn't leaking that bad...I would have to add about a quart of antifreeze every couple weeks or so(there was always a small puddle where i parked the car)..eventually I had a new radiator put in...no big deal...just keep an eye on your coolant level and watch that gauge as well. It's not leaking bad is it?

 

No its not bad at all. I just have to top it off every few weeks. There is never a puddle. I have been watching it. I just wanted to know if someone's was weeping and then blew and stranded them. Thanks for the feedback.

 

what kind of coolant are you guys using, i heard that if you use anything other than G12 pink stuff itll corrode your radiator. ive been using the green crap i bought from shell but thats what was int eh car when i bought it.

yeah i know im just waiting til next month or so to drain a flush everything while i have the front bumper off for painting.

 

thermostat housing was/still leaking in my 2001 VW 30V engine, it has little crack in a plastic, few days ago I ordered new one -$74, just wanna let u know it’s almost impossible to replace it w/o taking t/b off
