i was just wondering if there is any other way to get the code for my radio with out spending $120 from the dealer?

i just removed my headunit and found my handwritten radio code on a sticker on the side of the headunit...it's also sometimes found in the trunk, in between the body and the brace, and sometimes it's in the spare tire well....also, if you still have the original owner's manual, it can be found there too. here's where i just found mine...it was a nice little surprise...

i doubt it, the last owner of this car would have no idea how to remove the headunit.

most dealerships charge around 100 bucks to "retrieve" your code...i think it's pretty stupid that they put a lock on it anyway...who steals stock headunits???

I used to work at a dealership in manheim, when ever we would buy cars from the manheim auto auction i'd say about 60% were missing the stock radio or something broken was thrown in there. when people say that dealers are shady sometimes they are right. if we tried to get the code through the VIN3 out 0f 5 times the radio didn't match the vin.
