radio question..anyone know?

so does anyone know how to get the symphony d-din radio out with out getting those damn expensive tools? any suggestions at all please. i want to hook my ipod up to it, and dont really have the money to buy the tools so anyone know another way?

U got sheet metal, or cheap slim jims and cut them down to the size of the slits and about 3" long, it worked on my B6 just this week when I installed my AVCI-Z1.

try takeing out the center console the factory radio should be screwed it behind the console if it is the double din factory radio which means that the factory is about 6 inches tall if it is the single din radio i don't rember how to get that on out i think you do need some speicail vw keys that are like 5-10 dollars

I also made my own tools, from a couple of pieces of thin white metal (easy to file down). I just tapered down one of the ends (think of a tiny scale model of a butter knife). Only took about 10 minutes, and worked like a charm.
