Default Radio Signals

I just bought a '05 1.8T S-Line Quattro about 1,000 miles ago, and things are going well.. just a couple of observations that i'm wondering if others have had similar experiences:

1) The radio signals are freagging crappy! I bet better reception in my friends accord. It's to the point where I think that there HAS to be something wrong because I can't fathom the fact that a new car would have such pathetic reception... and it's not like i live in the boonies either. [:@] I used to drive an M3 before this, and that had no probs either.
2) Going in and out of first gear is a bit rough (even at a dead stop)... just wondering why it dosnt' slide in as easily as the other gears.[]

Audi's are known for having bad radio reception, especially AM. You may want to go to the dealer and compare reception on a like vehical.

Sounds familiar. My FM reception is ok, but AM is horrible. I sometimes have trouble picking up an AM station here in Indy that our van can pickup in Fort Wayne.
