rain flooded audi a4 convertible drivers side ... please help :(
hi
so i have a black 2006 a4 quattro convertible & apparently also a leak. i noticed the leak on the driver's side of the car during car washes, just a little drip here and there, nothing major. then sometimes i noticed after it rained heavily, i would have a wet driver's side rug. again, nothing other than the annoying waiting for it to dry/smell had occurred. then this week, i got in my car after 2 days of constant rain, and this happened:
-doors wouldn't unlock with key
-convertible top light blinked on dash, then when i tried to open the top it wouldn't open
-all windows would not open
-traction control light stayed on
so i was on my way to work, the car drove fine, then a loud buzz that sounded like a speaker blowing started to happen. ..i learned it came from the glove compartment DOOR itself, and would not stop. (not sure what kind of motor is in the glove door???)
took the car home, disconnected the batt, and the buzzing stopped.
it was still raining, so we covered the car with a tarp.
then, the next day (one or 2 days at least the car had probably been flooded) we checked under the driver's floor, and there was a ton of water. we had to drill a hole to get it out. so it flowed out for a while, there was truly a lot of water...
waited a day, no rain, sunny, warm... so tonight i tried to connect the battery to see if anything had changed. it hadn't. nothing worked, and the lights that were randomly on, were still on.
i'm panicked because it has been days like this, although we drained the water as soon as we could, i am afraid the damage is done, and i have no funds to fix this through audi (one week ago i just became a registered nurse, and do not have a job as of yet) and as i looked through other forums, it seems that this type of job can take weeks to do because a main transmission wire/comfort control??? that runs throughout the entire car has to be replaced???
i am a 25 year old young woman and although i love my car and am interested in cars in general, i definitely do not have the range of knowledge as to what to do about something like this. i didn't even know such a problem could occur.
if anyone has any feedback for me, please, help.
buying this car took everything i have and i couldn't bear to lose it. i just want to know that something like this is fixable. even if unaffordable...
thanks for reading this huge message !!!
