I work in Sweden and drive a left handed (same as the states) A4 saloon. I have had problems with rain water leaking into the drivers side footwell left hand side - it drips in from above the clutch foot and i think (??) not from the door) I have cleared out dead leaves and muck from the drainage hole beneath the battery (it was blocked completely) and ensured that all other drainage channels are free especially beneath an electrical box on the left (this area was also clogged up). I can pour a bucket of water over the entire area infront of the windscreen and nothing leaks in and the water quickly drains out under the car. BUT when the car is standing and there is heavy rain water drips in on that left. I dread to take it to an Audi garage as they charge the earth. Any advice please?

dude check under the hood, there is a small poket with some cables and stuff, check that drain hole is clear and the rubber did not peal off.

 

There is a tray under the battery that collects water if the drain gets plugged. When the water level gets high enough it will spill down the firewall into the passenger floor. You usually have to take the battery out to drain it.

Thanks for the info but it wasn't the above. I had already tested those areas with water. There was a hole in the sealing arrangement of the front windscreen. A glass company fixed a silicon seal on the inside of the window BUT it still leaks...... taking it back to them again next thursday!

 

Problem is solved.
The window garage put silicon along the entire upper length of the inside of the windscreen. So please and it has endured several weeks of storming swedish weather as proof of its sealing!
