Hi,
My '01 1.8T w/95k miles has recently started to have short episodes (1-2 minutes) of misfiring that feel like it's only running on 3 cylinders.
The CEL flashes during this time also.

So far it's always returned to normal running but no CEL codes are saved.

The coil packs are not that old (<1 year) as are the plugs.
Checking the plugs shows nothing different between them and they all look normal.

I'm going to check compression tonight but wanted to ask if there's anything else I should look for initially and not having any codes thrown doesn't help matters.
