random symptoms
so i am driving up to nyc a few days back and sitting in lots of traffic gettin outta philly. all of a suddlen it is extremely extremely hard to shift. I wasnt gettin on it or doing anything crazy so i just assumed the extreme heat of the stop and gos must have changed the viscosity of my gear oil and not allowing the synchros to get things up to speed right away. about a week later now and the symptoms havent gone away. Sometimes the shifting is fine sometimes it is not. Anyone have similar symptoms? I was thinking of getting the gear oil replaced with mobil 1 or redline as I have had good results with those two in the past. Second most likely unrelated symptom. When on boost and shifting the blowoff sounds very fluttery and louder than normal. On my WRX this meant that the recirc hose was off the bov. Does this go on with a4s as well? Where should i be looking for a possible hose off? I am stg 1 so perhaps the increased heat from that stop and go session on a 101 degree day +increased boostcracked a hose. couldnt really find a fix for either problem? Any insight? samco time?
