this item on ebay claims to be better than the k04 setup, can someone confirm this cus my turbo is shot and if this is true im going to rebuild with this setup and do an aggresive k04 program chip.

this is just my opinion but for almost 300$ couldnt u buy a turbo with more potential than the k04. I have not been involved with audi's before but i would think that the stock turbo on our 1.8's doesnt have a lot of room for real high performance. i could be totally wrong but before buying a fleabay kit i would do more research on other alternatives.

my 2cents

this isn't a turbo. its the turbo internals. so you would have to take yours apart and put these in. which i doubt you'd be able to correctly balance everything and do it right. (i know i couldn't). dont go to ebay for a replacement turbo. half of them are glued together pieces of ****

A turbo bigger then a k03 is going to cost you $800 - $1500 depending on what you are looking for not including any thing else. and yes the 1.8t has more then enough room for some very powerful setups. stock internals will handle up to 300/350hp once you go over that you need to replace the rods and whatnot, you will then be good for 500ish, heard of people going higher. just look aorund on the site, you'll be amazed what the 1.8t can do with a little work.

It increases the inducer and exducer to increase the trim level which intern increase the amount of air it can flow. This should increase the hp rating a small amount. There is a way to rebuild the turbo yourself by doing it in certain steps so it doesnt go out of balance. I wouldnt expect huge gains, but a noticeable gain over a regular ko4 "upgrade"
