I bought my first one on obdtool.com and then registered the rosstech software. It worked fine while I had it. They don't always work very good though, and there is no technical support. With rosstech they will help you out and make sure everything is good. They also have a tech support forum on audiworld.com.

Cool.. Just out of curiosity Jest.... How much you spent on your car... in total... including the car? Want to know how much I gotta spend to get a crazy ride like that... I love my interior (custom saffron leather & door trims with woodgrain). It looks mad with the black paint job... But yours looks crazy.. Just curios!

Also on the VAG COM... I just searched it & found about 10 different cables, OBD2, KKL... Can you guys have a look at this guys? Would this type of VAG COM cable be cool for my 96' A4 1.8 ltr turbo quattro? It says it is but I would like a good one??

Yep that will probably work, but may be buggy. The shareware version of the software is sort of limited in what you can do. You will probably still have to register it for $99. I wouln't cheap out on it, go get the authentic ross-tech cable. That is just an imposter.

As far as my car, it was ~37k + ~$1500 in mods so far.

I have to keep telling everyone that using the old cable (or imitation) means you have to use the old version of the software.
It will work, but just be aware of that. Ross tech has stopped supporting the old version of the software.
