I can't get the rear rotor off for the life of me. I have new rotors to put on so i've been beatin the hell outta the old one trying to get it off. Any ideas? I need the car for work tomorrow so any quick help would be appreciated.

 

big F*cking hammer? Do you have the caliper braket off? Get a hammer and PB blaster (or WD40) and have at it. Hit it on the extremes of the rotor.

 

Yea I remember reading a similar post maybe a week ago. As long as you have the brake caliper and carrier off, your rotor should be free to come off. Hit it with some PB blaster or WD40 behind the rotor. You should be able to wack it on the outside of the rotor with a hammer and have it come off, just like wood_e said. Its just rusted on there. Be liberal with the penetrating oil and the BFH and it should come off.

 

+1 Place a 2x4 over the rotor so you don't accidentally fvck up something.

 

Also, get some anti-sieze so this won't happen again.

 

i went out there and kicked the hammer outta the way and i got the sledge and 3 shots later it fell off. Thanks, i guess i just needed a bigger hammer, lol.
