Default Help with rear rotor removal - 03 A4 1.8TQ

Does anyone out there know if its possible to remove the rear rotors on an 03 A4 1.8TQ without removing the caliper carrier bracket? The head on one of the bolts on my bracket is stripped, so short of cutting the bolt out, I have not way of getting the rotor out. Any help is appreciated.

Simple answer-

NO! The carrier must be removed first.

Simple response to simple answer -

YES!

if you can remove one of the bolts and have a pry bar. you can move the carrier out of the way enough to get the caliper in and out

Default Thanks for the replies

Thanks very much for the replies. I took it in to a local shop and they were able to get the bolts out and replace them with new ones. Funny thing, I had to try two differnet dealers to get the new carrier bolts. The first dealer insisted that I needed to buy the entire carrier for an extra $117 per side.
