Rear Speaker Harness?

Rear Speaker Harness?
The owner before me had a sound system (or atleast a subwoofer) in my car. I can tell because there is a cable running from my battery through my ecu to my trunk! Anyway my rear speakers are not working, and it seems they will get sound if you CRANK THE VOLUME TO THE MAX. Now, i figure they are not getting juice.

I see there is a circuit board in my left rear speaker. Then they are talking about a wiring harness.
My question is this : Where is the harness located? on the speaker? or the back of the stereo?
Has anyone else has this problem before?
Thanks Again!
BTW 1999 Audi A4 1.8TQM NON-Bose.

RE: Rear Speaker Harness?
basically what they did is bypass the factory amp. you can 1. hook that back up or 2 buy an aftermarket one to but in there which will be better. you will probably be better off taking it to a stereo shop because there is some testing to make sure the right speaker and the right polarity and all that stuff.
