So I went to EZ Lube today and had my fluids topped off and I asked them to check and see if my oil pan was on tight because I noticed when I moved my car the other day that it seemed to be leaking. I asked the guy to check and he said that I have got two leaks, one coming from my engine gasket and one from my transmission gasket...What are the Odds? I don't know why all of a sudden such a thing could happen but now i'm dreading the cost to get it fixed...Can anyone give me a ball park figure as to how much a job like that could cost...I know its very vague but its all i know also, i havn't taken it to the shop to get looked at yet...Thanx...I would greatly appreciate your input...

 

Take it somewhere else and confirm it. EZ lube sounds like there trying to bank off your audi. Goto a couple of places tell them whats up compare prices and then see where your at.

 

well you are going to have to tell us a bit more than that there are a few engine and tranny gaskets to choose from

Yeah i don't know which gaskets yet cuz i havn't taken it to a real shop, but if someone has ever had to get ANY gasket replaced on their engine or trans. please let me know the figures...I don't want to faint at the repair shop when they tell me the damage...And the answer to "Why EZ lube" They had a special and i got my oil changed there and they top you off for free with mobile 1 in between visits....Someone give me some figures please...

 

sorry man I can give you #'s but without knowing what is wrong the valve cover is like $50 no labour and a head gasket will be aroud $1500

 

Thanx CL, Even if its a round about thats what i was gearing for...Because i have no idea what to expect...This will be the first problem with my Audi...The rest has just been Maintenance...

Tip 5, did you get a quote for the labor before you did it yourself?

 

German autoworks is where i take mine most of the time. I think its like 500 or so.
