regular oil or synthetic?

Default regular oil or synthetic?

i jsut bought a 01 a4 2.8. i have no idea wut type of oil the other person used as i dont' kno who was the last owner. is it ok if i use regular oil and they used synthetic or vice versa? i heard u should stick with one.

Lets try the search feature, works wonders anyway if you dont know what they used go buy some engine cleaner like seafoam and use it for aboput 100 miles b4 your next oil change then put in full syn 5w40, dont ever mess with reg oil with an audi you will be sorry

You can use regular oil, it doesn't even matter what weight you use. As long as you change it every 10K miles or so, you'll be all set.

While you're at it, you should upgrade your engine. Here on the forum we have this awesome Search Engine that is really awesome to use.
