letting your engine "warm up" will actually damage your cat

1. letting a car idle for long periods of time burns fuel and with gas prices at $3.00 a gallon, lets be realistic 2. an already hot-running engine bay, such as that in Audis, does not need to be generating hot air and then let sit for 5-10 minutes to the point where it could probably overheat because there's no cool air running into the airbox via the small vent in the grille.

The owners manual specifies to just "start the car and go"... check it out. They stress against letting the car idle to warm up. It's winter... suck it up!
