Need to replace the gaskets on catalytic converter. Friend recommended getting a “test pipe” to replace catalytic converter, so the flow would not be restricted. Said it would increase throttle response and give more HP. Thought maybe 15 more HP.

Any thoughts on this being facts? Also isn’t the catalytic converter there to reduce pollutants?
