Default removing spray paint from paint

So some douche bag decided to paint a black stripe on the hood of my roomates white Navigator. Appears to be spray paint. What would be the best way of removing this w/o destroying the clear coat below?

I was thinking of polish, going through all three steps, and then throw a layer of wax on top. Any ideas would be great. he's furious right now...

id be careful with that, it could get ugly, i say try the nail polish very litely and see if it comes off pretty easy, otherwise, maybe a buffer kit, no idea, i wish i could help, cause that sucks, my car was egged a while ago and by the time i came home it let a big *** hole in the clear coat

I know this is way late, but just for referance to anyone who reads this:

In a case like this, you can just use automotive lacquer thinner at $10 a gallon. Since your car's clear is catylized it would take a long time for the thinner to hurt it. It would easily take the spray paint off and all you would be left with is a dull finish. Just re-wax the area and you're good to go. Why pay a bodyshop to do such a simple fix? Just my 2 cents

Too easy, happened to me when I was in high school. Go to walmart and get"Oops." Works great! will dull the paint a bit, but a coat or 2 of wax fixes that problem. cost about $3-$4.
