Replacement of Alternator
It really depends on what year 1.8T engine you have, the pre 01 engines are a lot harder.
Usually have to remove the fan clutch on the older models and some other crap.
01+ models are easy, just take off the belt, and un-bolt the two bolts, then swing that piece of crap out.

Ok, I was just freakin', since I had never worked on an Audi before. And, now I have. The alternator was a easy. It took me 30 minutes from start to finish. Two tricks, be sure to remove the throttle body. The clip for the plug, well you push a small flat head screw driver into the slot along side lift up gently and it slides off. Otherwise easy. The web site kind of helped, so thanks. It really was simple.
