Default resonated??

I have a 99.5 A4 1.8T and my exhaust has a big hole in it. I have been in the market for a new exhaust and was going to buy the milltek for $899 until i saw the same one with a resonater. The resonated one is $999 and if i dont need the resonater than there is no point in geting it. Can some one tell me what a resonater is and what it does?

it's a mid-muffler, it makes it quieter

it will make it a little quieter and not have much drone at all, its just another muffler in the middle, i took mine out and the car sounds cooler but the droan can get annoying at times

I have the mid muffler of my milltek and it was replaced within the week with mandrel bent straight piping. Its not to loud, unless you take out the cat or upgrade to a BT

I dunno but I am for a resonator. I once had a custom mandrel bent piping 2.25 onto a twin loop muffler bypassing the resonator and it sounded too loud. Went right back to the shop and installed a resonator. For the little gain that one would get from having no resonator, I would keep it just to have a classier, non-ricier sounding, nice looking Audi. That is my 2 cents.

OO...would also suggest getting sound clips from someone running the same setup so that you can decide.

yea you cant compare the sound of a good turbo motor to those shitty rice motors, even straight piped the audi motor sounds soo much better
