The 18's will NOT raise the car's height.
18" wheels will require a narrower sidewall to maintain the same OD so the speedo will be correct and other dynamics remain the same. This is why plus-one sizing reduces ride quality, etc.
Lowering the car 1.5 inches is a huge change in suspension dynamics. I'd consider further what you really want to accomplish - aesthetics or performance.

ImolaS4: so what you are saying is if i put on 18's i will not need to lower my baby unless i want to? Well then if thats the case i will wait and see how they fit. My car is red by the way.... thats why i went for the hyperblack look. I was thinking abt black but it looks too much like its been painted on.
