kristokes, if you are chipped, then it is definitely believable. I know guys with the b7's just chipped w/ exhaust and they are breaking into the high 13s, but stock, I just dont see you taking a wrx.
When I had my gtrs setup, lightly modded(chip, uppipe, exhaust) wrx's could hang pretty close to me, and I dynoed at 280+whp.

There's a little more too it than that. UTECs are garbage, notorious for blowing ecus, but if they dont they can be a great system to run. Just not worth the hassle and risk. the Japanese STi has a VF34 turbo. That tranny really is bullet proof, its insane. Plus the adjustable diff makes a huge difference between the STi and WRX.

ORIGINAL: sirfalconx

The STi motor has an increased stroke (2.5L) and is built with better stronger components. +bigger turbo(VF39)
In japan the STi and the WRX Share the same motor (2.0L) because of Rally regulations, but they build the Jspec/euro 2.0L better. Dunno what the exact turbo they use on those is.

The light modders switch up to the STi's stock VF39 Turbo which, I believe, is a direct bolt on replacement. As long as you get a Utec and new injectors you will get about 250-275AWH (bigg diff cuz the 222 is crank HP so its a 50-75hp gain @the wheels). But again the trans wont hold for long at that power. Most people who build up a 2.0 WRX do a 6-speed trans swap anyway...
