Hello everyone! I just bought my Audi 98 A4 Quattro V6 and have noticed on first gear, it makes a rough kinda gurgling noise.. but on my second through 5 its fine. It's only first! and I have no idea what is going on! Is it my tranny? or what? I've never owned a Audi before and this is my first, Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated!

 

seems as it's your tranny first gear.
To test it:

try not to use your first gear, go directly to second gear when you start driving. I know it'll be tough to move, but slowly it's possible.

If the "gurgling" does not persist, then it's your trannys first gear.
Go get it checked before it totally breaks down.

 

oh no.. thats no good.. I was hoping it wasn't that but sadly I guess I have to come to terms with it.. =/. I've been starting at 2nd and there have been no issues. Only 1st is when I get that gurggling kinda grinding sound. I'm new to Audi's and don't know a while lot about repair costs. What do you think it will set me back?
