Hi,

I've recently noticed a rubbing noise coming from the steering wheel. Doesn't sound like anything to serious but is very annoying. Sounds like plastic rubbing somewhere near the top of the column. also getting a creaking noise when I turn the wheel slowly. However, this only lasts for about 10 degress in each direction.

Anybody got any ideas on this?

Spray some white lithium grease where the rubber parts meet. This is in the interior , into the steering column.

 

Maybe you are hearing your power steering pump, check your ps fluid level.

 

check all the above but concentrate on where the noise is emanating from ( is it the height adjustable steering wheel ) does it need checking

 

same problem i had a few weeks back...like ^ said spray some grease around the bushings, fixed mine! I took it into the shop they said was play in the tierod end that was making the noise.
