Default Running a Pc-16 w/TipTronic Tranny!???

First off I want you to know that I did search this (i used "tip pc-16"; "K04 with pc-16 and tip" and a bunch of others like that) anyways all I could find is that some poeple say it works and others say it doesn't.

SO with that being said, do you know anyone who is currently running the K04 w/pc-16 file and a stock tip tranny? (by stock I mean w/out the level 10 upgrade.) I do not want people to just say "no you can't" I am looking for real examples of poeple trying it and it blowing their tranny up or people who are currently running it w/out any problems. Thanks!!! Or point me to a link that will help me out with this!

OH and by the way I AM actually going to do this. I have already bought some of the parts for this car so now I am locked into modding this one. Just to let you all know.

Josh

well i dont lol but what i will say is that In most cases its best to have at least a tip chip to help the tranny coop with the stress.. and to be safest a level ten kit would be the best bet but probably not nessicary

i heard that a stock tip tranny can only take up to 300 tq.. and a tip chip helps the tranny.

i would get a tip chip, but my tip doesnt work and it costs$400 to find the problem.

but it should work

Hey Scott, Try taking the tip assembly apart, the rolling sleve thing (in picture) It's just the cover over the shift path.It has a magnet in it that when moved over into tip mode activates three switches on the circuit board. The middle tells the computer to switch to tip mode, the other outer ones tell it to shift. Check to see if the magnet is missing. Mine had broken off, it cost $65 to get a new sleve thing (from audi) but that's all it took to fix it.

no you cant lol

reason why you can't find someone who has done it, is cause it shouldn't be done. stock trannies, from what im told, can hold close to 300 ft lbs of torque. with pc-16 you have slightly over 300 ft lbs of torque, so to do this setup you would be REALLY pushing it.

also i dunno if the tip chip will help, i thought those only made it shift faster, not streghten them. but i've haven't researched into them a whole lot cause i think tip blows and won't drive anything but a manual. so correct me if im wrong guys.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ght=pc-16+auto

found this thread that kinda proves me wrong. one kid says someone ran a t-28 with a tip and there are a couple of guys on AW that have tip pc-16. if i were you i would try and hunt these guys on AW down and talk to them about it. if you end up going pc-16 with the tip tranny and your tranny blows, then you my friend will be up **** creek without a paddle. try and keep that in mind
